I have not been  to the ocean in a very long time so when I laid eyes on the sea again, felt all teary eyes. I was raised in Southern California and spent many long days and evenings on the beach. I remember the bonfires we had in the evenings roasting hot dogs, playing music with our guitars and banjos. We lived on the beach!

Our family would take long drives just to see the beautiful coastline. The ocean was very much a part of me while growing up.

When you think about it, the ocean is an amazing entity. Not just that it’s so powerful, and endless, but that it brings such comfort just to listen to it’s rhythm beating on the sands, polishing the rocks and shaping continents. I’m glad I had a chance to visit the sea again this summer. I have written about it in almost all of my books and will continue to do so.
